Who is Alexia?

I am a senior specialist eating disorder dietitian. I have worked in several eating disorder units over my career both NHS and private. I have excellent experience in both adult and child and adolescent eating disorders in an inpatient and outpatient setting. I have worked in a mental health setting for 17 years in various roles and pride myself in my client centred approach to my work.
My specialist areas are Anorexia Nervosa , Bulimia Nervosa, Binge eating disorders and disordered eating patterns as well as IBS (FODMAP) and weight management.
I currently work in a 18 bedded eating disorder unit alongside my private outpatient case load with an experienced and eclectic multi disciplinary team.
Previous to this I held Gastroenterology and weight management posts in the NHS.

Why is my registration important?
Choosing the right person to seek help and advice from can sometimes be a confusing task. Many people claim to be experts in nutrition yet have very limited knowledge and offer no protection to the public. Dietitians are the only nutrition professionals to be regulated by law and are therefore the most credible source of food and nutrition advice.
Dietitians are statutorily regulated, with a protected title and governed by an ethical code, to ensure that they always work to the highest standard. The title 'dietitian' can only be used by those appropriately trained professionals who have registered with the Health Care Professions Council and whose details are on the HCPC website.
I am registered with the following insurance companies: Cigna, WPA, Vitality, Pru Health, Aviva and BUPA. I also accept privately paying referrals.
